November 12th, 2012

Nominations have been released for the 2012 Sandown Guineas, which is scheduled to take place at Sandown Racecourse this Saturday November 17, 2012.

18 horses have nominated for the 2012 Sandown Guineas, including Tatra.

Tatra has won two of his 10 race starts and has earned more than $220,000 in prize money during his horse racing career.

The Hussonet colt has already won a stakes race this preparation, claiming victory in the Listed Ming Dynasty at Warwick Farm Racecourse in September.

Last start, Tatra placed a close second to Lunar Rise in the Group 3 Carbine Club Stakes at Flemington Racecourse.

Lunar Rise is also included in the 2012 Sandown Guineas nominations.

Lunar Rise has won three of his eight race starts and has earned more than $215,000 in prize money.

The Starcraft gelding has been a consistent performer at the top level this spring, placing fourth behind It’s A Dundeel in the Group 1 Spring Champion Stakes at Royal Randwick Racecourse two starts back.

Lunar Rise won his last start over 1,600 metres and is well poised to take out the 2012 Sandown Guineas over the same distance this weekend.

Al Aneed, Proverb, Union Gap and Eximius are also included in the 2012 Sandown Guineas nominations.
